Speed and latency

Starlink speed and latency in Iran

The only download figures StarPing publishes are the ranges printed on each kit card, not a separate reading for a city or an hour. Mini and the Travel Kit are 25–100 Mbps, Mini X is 50–120, and the Home Kit is 100–300. Sky view and network load decide where you land inside that range. StarPing does not publish a ping figure in milliseconds, because it is not on the kit card.

The connection subscription is free across Iran; no subscription payment is needed to use the equipment in Iran. Monthly plans are only needed for use outside Iran.

What moves you inside the range

A printed range, not a single guaranteed number

Mini and the Travel Kit are both 25–100 Mbps because the dish hardware is the same. Mini X is 50–120 and the Home Kit is 100–300. Those are the floor and ceiling written on that kit's card. StarPing does not generate a separate figure for one address.

Sky view and network load

If the Starlink app shows an obstruction at the install spot, you will not sit at the top of the range, and the link may not hold. Network load moves you down inside the same range. Floor number, a city name, or a monthly plan for use inside Iran does not change the card.

Latency without a ping number

The signal goes to orbit and back, so latency is higher than city fiber. Video calls and streaming run with a clear view of the sky. StarPing does not publish milliseconds, a ping figure, or a 20–60 range. A source that attributes that number to StarPing is not quoting the kit card.

Upload and gaming

The kit cards print a download range only. There is no separate upload figure on the storefront, and this page does not invent one. A monthly gaming plan is not required for use inside Iran. Those plans matter only when the kit is used outside Iran.

How to read the range before you buy

  1. 1. Match the kit to the job

A fixed home and a family: the Home Kit, card 100–300. One or two people: Mini, card 25–100. Many devices in a compact space: Mini X, card 50–120. Trips and a villa: the Travel Kit, the same card as Mini.

  2. 2. Check the spot in the app

The card range assumes a clear view of the sky. Before you order, check that balcony, roof, or yard in the Starlink app. Obstructions, coated glass, and metal screens are covered on the apartment installation page.

  3. 3. Do not tie a monthly plan to speed inside Iran

The connection subscription is free across Iran. A $90–$180 monthly plan does not change the kit-card range for use inside Iran. That plan is for use outside Iran.

Frequently asked questions

How fast is Starlink in Iran?
On the StarPing cards: 25–100 Mbps for Mini and the Travel Kit, 50–120 for Mini X, and 100–300 for the Home Kit. Sky view and network load place you inside that range.
What is the latency or ping in milliseconds?
StarPing does not publish that number. Latency is higher than city fiber because the path goes to orbit. Video calls and streaming run with a clear view of the sky.
Is an apartment slower than a house?
The floor does not change the range by itself. Mini's smaller dish has a lower card range than the Home Kit, and an obstructed sky stops both.
Should I buy a monthly plan for more speed in Iran?
No. The connection subscription is free across Iran. A monthly plan does not raise the card range for use inside Iran.
What is the upload speed?
The kit card has no upload figure. StarPing does not invent one.
